My Best Friend Sugar
I met Sugar in grade school. She was my best friend then & always will be. I could go to her with any problem I had. If it was a girl I
like or even a girl I wanted to date, she was always there for me thought the
good times and bad times. I could not have asked for a better best friend in
this world then her. Sugar saw past the color of my skin where most people would
not. I�m of African Descent. But to Sugar it was not the color of person�s skin
it was what was in their hearts as well as hers.
To give you a guideline of Sugar. Affectionate, spontaneous, adventurous,
passionate a dreamer. Intelligent, confident and independent. She was never one
to lie down for anyone. Always gave her all in any situation she is in. Never
giving up, not matter what the cost was. If it was in a friendship/
relationship. She always made the best of it good or bad, right or wrong.
In 1984 I went to Sugar with a desire of both ours. We
always had this desirer since grade school .It was going to London, England to
write & produce song. Sugar said to me. Leo, as much as I do love you, I have
still the passion for music. I can�t go with you as I have started a family & my
dreams & passion will have to stay locked in my heart. But you must go and
fulfill all our dreams. I left for London 3 day later, not knowing what, was in
store for her our me. I married a few years later and divorced in 2000. I went
back to my music. I would call Sugar once a week and ask her to come out to
London. She would say Leo I can�t you are my best friend and I love you for
that. Their is more at stack here if I come to London. So I stopped called her.
Only writing letters once a month
Then that dreadful day my God Daughter calls me crying.
Mom has cancer and may not make it. Leo what should I do. I said to her baby I�m
on the next plan to you. I realized then and there that I really did love Sugar
she was my life she pulled me through all my bad times, & was always there for
me & I ran out on her .When I got to see Sugar after almost 18 years I had a
broken heart because I seen the pain in her eye�s as she tried to tell me
everything is going to be ok Leo I�m fine. As I sat on the corner of her bed, we
talked like it was old times. She told me all about her knight in shining armor.
How he told her to call her dad and tell him that she had cancer. Along with how
much she loves him & the little ones .I did not know what to say to Sugar but
only that I hope one day you will be together forever. As I knew deep in the pit
of my heart & souls I love her. I held her
as she would cry. Only to think to myself why, God why Sugar what has she done
but have a pure heart and soul and this is the gradated she gets for that. This
is not fair at all. Sugar was at one time so full of life I hope that one day she
will be again so she can be with her Knight.
I would like to say to who every this knight is. As much
as I love Sugar I willing give her to you. As long as you love her
unconditionally as I would, don�t hurt her in anyway she has had enough pain and
sorrow to last anyone a lifetime. I prey you are true to you word by telling her
you love her. Sugar is a very good woman. Carry her in you heart & souls always

Love is an easy word to say, if you don�t feel it in the
depth of your soul don�t tell someone you love them.
Sugar if you every read this. I just would like to say put
your pride away .It�s my turn as a best friend to look after you baby.
